On February 7, 2022, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will launch the [Training Provider Registry](https://tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov/About). The Training Provider Registry will connect commercial driver’s license (CDL) applicants with training providers to complete the required entry-level driver training. This registry will help improve safety on American roads by receiving, retaining, and relaying a record of CDL applicants that have completed the required entry-level driver training.

**How the Training Provider Registry Works**

**Drivers:** Drivers can search for training providers on the website.

**Training Providers:** Registered training providers can submit training certification information to FMCSA after drivers complete training.

**States:** States can verify a driver’s completion of required training.

**[Entry-Level Driving Training](https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/commercial-drivers-license/entry-level-driver-training-eldt) is required for the following:**

New CMV operating licenses;  
CMV license upgrades (from a Class B license to a Class A license);  
CMV license endorsements for passenger (P), hazardous materials (H) or school bus (S); and  
Previously disqualified CDL holders seeking reinstatement (“refresher” training).
